See with Your Eyes and Feel with Your Heart “Gyeongju, amazing city”
If the single city was the hub of politics and culture for more than 600 years, how great is that?
Gyeongju was capital city for 1,000 years. Single kingdom survived for 1,000 year is amazing and same capital for 1,000 years is unbelievable. Don’t even thing about comparing Gaza strip of Egypt or Angkor Wat in Cambodia. They are the heritage sites in the history but Gyeongju is still alive city.

In 7th century, population was about one million. If the population is one million in 7th century, it is large as NY metropolitan. Population of Seoul, current capital city, in 14th century was about one hundred thousand. That means gyeongju was already 10 times larger in the 7th century.
Sadly, it is not available at the moment, but there was 9 story wooden pagoda at Hwangryong temple site. Height was about 70 meters, which is about height of 13th floor. Amazing thing is this pagoda was built by only wood. It is almost wonders of the world. Tallest building of East Asia was this pagoda in 7th century. It is like empire state building of East Asia. It was burnt during the battle.
It is not the most amazing thing of Gyeongju yet. The most amazing thing is Gyoengju city itself is the UNESCO world heritage. Entire city is the heritage sites.
