Korea travel guide app for Chinese tourists
A Korea travel information app has recently been launched by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) aimed at helping mainland Chinese tourists during their stay in Korea.
The simplified Chinese app, Hanguo Zizhu You, provides Korea travel information, maps and shopping coupons. Since the representative Chinese tourist in Korea enjoys shopping, the application is designed to show over 6,000 pieces of data about major shopping areas across the country.
In particular, the app offers coupons ready to be used in duty free shops, department stores and shopping malls, as well as shopping information based on different regions and times of day.
The app contains a map of Korea and provides location-based services, including automotive navigation and public transportation information. The app can be downloaded for free from the Apple app store andthe Google Play Store and from other Chinese language app markets.
“The number of individual mainland Chinese travelers is skyrocketing, and we intend to provide a customized tour guide based on information technology, which can replace existing travel guide books,” said a manager at the Korea Tourism Organization. “We plan to further develop the app to provide a one-stop travel service.”
