This is one must see place as you get a good picture of what South Korea has gone through. My tour guide was Jinny. She was thorough with her explanations although I found it a little hard to understand her English because of her strong Korean language. The stops could have been longer. There are 5000 people per day on these tours so I see how time is important.Still a little longer at each site would have been more relaxing. This tour does not include the JSA as you have to book with someone who includes that for an extra price.

The best part of our tour is our very capable, hands-on and patient tour guide Ms. Jin! We were picked up on time from our hotel in Seoul. She can speak English and Chinese fluently and communicated well with everyone in our group. She assisted everyone during the ski gear and clothes fitting and even helped us when we had a problem with the ski boots. She is a good ski coach also for beginners like us and taught the basics of skiing patiently. Ms. Jin’s help is highly appreciated and recommended!
Our family enjoyed learning to ski and taking pictures of the view.

We visited the DMZ with Jin Yeoni-ssi as our guide. We booked it rather last minute, less than 10 hours before and was surprised they could accommodate us. Though we could not go to one of the places in the tour due to heavy snow, the tour was an interesting insight of the DMZ. It was an eye-opening experience for anyone who wished to understand the DMZ and honestly it made me appreciate peace. Yeoni-ssi was very pleasant and friendly and a good storyteller. She also made an effort to engage everyone on the bus and when we asked for dinner recommendations, she even called up a restaurant and helped us check if it was open. I strongly recommend going for this tour of the DMZ.

The pick up from hotel was smooth and the several stops we made were amazing. The tour can end with a group lunch if you pay. I would say the only thing that you should really understand is the actual visit to the tunnel is A MAJOR WORKOUT. The tour guide will tell you before you go into the tunnel that it’s not for people who have a heart condition, bad knees, etc but I’m a fit and active female who’s is 6 ft and I had a struggle with the tour of the tunnel. Once you get down the straight shot downward, if your tall you will have to walk the next mile or so vent over. Then once you turn back around and get out to the main area you hike back up the straight shot down.
I was happy as I got to experience history and burn off 2000 calories.

DMZ with Seoul City Tour
Reviewed June, 2018 (By a Hesthea, TripAdvisor Reviewer)
I booked my DMZ tour with Seoul City Tours. We visited Imjingak Park and Freedom Bridge, the 3rd Tunnel, Dora Observation Post, Dorasan Station and at the end we made a stop at a Ginseng Museum/ shop. We then returned to Seoul where we had our lunch at a local restaurant near Seoul City Hall.
During our trip to Imjingak Park there was a passport check by South Korean military during the tour. So do not forget to bring your passport to the tour or else you can’t pass.
The stops had around 30 to 40 minutes each except for the 3rd Tunnel which took a bit longer maybe to give us time to rest after the steep strenuous walk on our way up.
Imjingak Park is one of the most meaningful places to visit and learn about Korean history. It was built in the hopes of one day the two Korea’s become one again and has many monuments on its surroundings.
One of them is Mangbaedan. This altar was built so that people who got separated from their families and loved ones in the North can mourn their loss due to the war and separation thereafter.
The Freedom Bridge from which South Koreans returned to their homes from NK after the signing of the Armistice Agreement in 27th July 1953 and one of the steam locomotives that used to connect the South and North thought the Gyeongui Line. It was bombed and derailed during the Korean War and it has remained as such with its war scars for half a century at the DMZ as a reminder of the war but also as a token of a wish for peace.
Next to the train you will see a barbed wire fence covered with multicoloured ribbons full of messages of peace, love and hope and there is also the Peace Bell to name a few.
3rd Tunnel was interesting to visit and getting to know the story behind it.
When you arrive you are advised to wear a helmet and leave your belongings in one of the many lockers near the reception. The less you take with you the better.
After that you can rest and even got for a walk to take some photos of the area such as the big DMZ logo, Unifying Earth sculpture or the small park.
There is also a gift shop near the tunnel in case you want to buy souvenirs like t-shirts, hats, fridge magnets or simply something to drink or eat.
I wouldn’t recommend going all the way down the tunnel if you suffer from claustrophobia – after you reach the base of the tunnel it will only get small and smaller. If you have breathing problems or weak mobility I wouldn’t advice you to go down the tunnel. Even for younger and fit people it was a bit of a hard walk all the way up. If you are tall (or above 1.65cm), you will have to walk a few meters while bending to be able to see until where the NK dug the tunnel before they got found out.
Next stop was Dora Observatory that is situated on top of Dorasan and from which you can take a peek at North Korea and see the North Korean propaganda village, unless the weather conditions don’t allow it.
Take some 500 won coins with you so that you can use the telescope and see even further into North Korea. 500Won = 2 minutes.
Dorasan Railway Station is 700 meters from the southern boundary line. Its 56 km from Seoul Station and a DMZ train (offered by Korail) on the Gyeongui Line travels from Seoul Station to Dorasan Station once a day (round trip). If peace is achieved between the two Koreas, Dorasan Station will be the first connecting point between them and the connecting door between Asia and Europe by train. With that in mind, Dorasan Station is already equipped with metal detectors and passport checkers.
The last stop of the tour was a ginseng museum/ shop and after that we returned to Seoul where we had our lunch in a local restaurant also included on the tour.
Lina, our tour guide, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She was fluent in English and gave us detailed information of the history surrounding DMZ and why/how it came to be.
She was also very attentive, making sure that the tour stayed on time and very patient in those times that we took a bit longer due to the toilet break queues.
Important:
There is no dress code for DMZ (except for the Panmunjom/ JSA Tour)
Children of all ages can visit DMZ (except for Panmunjom/ JSA Tour in which they need to 11yo or older)

YES. you must visit the DMZ.
I have nothing but great things to say about this tour. Reserving a slot is easy- just on go on the website and they have all the information laid out for you. We picked the half day tour (More than enough) and the morning slot 7am. The company picked us up right on time and it takes a little over 1 hour to get there. The tour guide spoke english and explained what the day would look like. It was so informative and a true eye opener to what this small country has gone through. It gets super real when you can see the borderline between south and north korea so get ready to feel some deep emotion.
Tips:
– Bring water and a few snacks
– Lots of cool souvenirs so make sure to bring cash
– 3rd infiltration tunnel: Not as hard as people said it would be. Yes it is a bit of a walk and the tunnel is low so if you are tall you will have to bend the whole time. I’m 5’6 and I had to bend down the whole time.
OVERALL: My husband and I really loved this tour and would recommend this to be a “top 3 things to do” if you are in Seoul.

During this tour, one gets to visit some interesting places within the DMZ.
The tour includes a visit to an observatory, an infiltration tunnel, a bridge were POW’s were exchanged and a train station with tracks going North. For us, the most interesting thing to see, however, was the Joint Security Area, JSA.
One of the JSA buildings lies exactly on the border and one can cross the border within this building. The JSA is an interesting place to visit and one can feel the tension between the two Koreas there.
All in all an interesting tour to experience Korean history up close.
Tip: In case one is not too familiar with the history of Korea, it might be interesting to visit the free Korean War memorial/museum in Seoul first in order to have some context.

Relaxed tour of Nami Island and Petite France
Reviewed January, 2018 (By Kyle P, TripAdvisor Reviewer)
1) Don’t worry if you haven’t watched Winter Sonata, you can still fully enjoy the two popular filming locations.
2) We went to Nami Island in winter so it was really cold. But wearing several layers really helped. The island staff put some outdoor fireplaces and those helped too.
The snowmen attractions all over the place were cute (my teenage sister really enjoyed them), and there’s even a small spot to sled down the snow. There were several animals on the island too, we saw a winter bunny, ewes, and two squirrels.
3) Petite France was interesting. I’ve been to several cities in Europe before, and this little village did feel European. It’s a good place to explore French culture in South Korea. A lot of dramas film here so fans can really enjoy themselves.
They even have views of the valley below and several performances. I recommend wearing shoes that makes climbing up stairs comfortable.
4) The places you’ll visit are a few hours ride from Seoul. (Was it 2 hours? I forgot). Since I was sleep deprived, the long ride was helpful in catching up on sleep.
If sitting in a car for a while bothers you, it’ll help to listen to an audiobook/podcast on your phone. It’s also a good chance to see a bit of the view of that area’s countryside
Overall, it was a nice trip.
P.S. Since Nami Island looks very different between seasons, you’ll experience a different view or adventure depending on the time of year.
Sincerely,
Kyle P.

I did a tour with Seoul City Tour to the DMZ (half day tour) and the tour was really well organized.
Were picked up at the hostel and picked up other people with the minibus after.
After arriving before the DMZ we met our guide Winnie and also the other people who joined the group.
We went to the train station where trains were running towards Pyongyang until some years before, to the observation point and also the museum and tunnel, all really interesting.
Winnie’s English was really good and she was nice and explained also about the places we visited.
At the end we stopped at a Ginseng museum which was interesting and also with a selling room. This was not really necessary in my opinion but still interesting. As we had some time in the end it was okay and just took half an hour.
All in all, I can really recommend to do the half day tour! And try to ask if you can go with Winnie 😉

The one-day tour to DMZ and JSA was overall a good experience with minor flaws. We were picked up at our hotel. Unfortunately, the driver was a very tight-lipped person. We transfered at Seoul Main Station and were driven to DMZ by bus with 40 other tourists. Our tourist guide (Daria) was motivated and committed. Her english was very good and she did her best to provide an comprehensive insight. Well informed and entertained, the 1 hour drive to the boarder passed by very quickly. The visit at DMZ was interesting but less tense than expected. The afternoon guide was less fluent in english than Daria and therefore difficult to understand. Although the information seemed more important. The transition between DMZ and JSA (in particular splitting up the tourists) could have been organized better. We arrived in time back in Seoul.
I recommend this trip, especially the afternoon trip to the JSA. Must do for foreigners visiting Korea. Overall a good experience, especially with Daria.

We took the full day tour with Seoul City Tour. Pick up was at one of the subway stations and from there we went by bus to the border. Some information was provided on the way. Before lunch we visited the 3rd tunnel (a discovered North Korean invasion route) which could be entered. There is a 350 meter long access tunnel taking you steeply to the escape tunnel at 73 meters depth. Quite a walk! Then an observation point with a lookout towards the northern neighbors. After that we went to Dorasan station, a complete station built for better (?) days to come with a complete railway line that is however not in use across the border. We then had a nice Korean lunch at Imjingak Park where you can see the old train and the Freedom Bridge.
But the cherry on the pie was the afternoon tour to Joint Security Area, JSA. An awesome experience, as this is living history in a zone of permanent conflict and tension. We were shown a presentation on the history and the events that took place there. We were allowed into the conference room which is traversed by the Military Demarcation Line, running through the middle of the negotiating table. On the other side of the table you are technically in North Korea.
Explanations by the various guides were good. Drop off was at the President Hotel near City Hall subway station.

We absolutely loved the 3rd tunnel although the hike back up was a little exhausting , and the eerie music at the Dora observatory was chilling . All in all I would would choose this company again , they give you lots of bathroom/food and souvenirs stops . They even pick you up from your hotel and drop you back off at the MRT to continue your day . Absolutely FANTASTIC !!!!

Booked through email last February 25. Response time was fast by Rachel Park. I changed schedule after one week and she was able to confirm as soon as possible.
Mar.20, at exact 850am, Rebecca Kim picked us in Courtyard Namdaemun. She was very friendly and talked to us a little Filipino like Magandang Umaga. We appreciate it because she’s very easy to talk to. We are comfortable and she’s very accommodating. It was an educational trip. We understood the culture and life in Korea in one day. Food is okay but if it’s possible to have more variety of food selection.
My suggestion to put WiFi connection inside the bus so after the tour per place, we can upload and share our experience right away in facebook or instagram to our friends and families.
I would like to commend the BRILLIANT customer service of Rebecca Kim! She’s very patient and very knowledgeable. She knows how to deal with us tourist. Always smiling and very pleasent to deal with. Thank you very much, Rebecca! You exceeded my expectation for this tour.

“2 D/1 N Trip to Daegu with Rebecca Kim”
Reviewed March, 2017 (By Megan W, TripAdvisor Reviewer)
I went on a 2 day, 1 night trip to Daegu with this tour company.
The rates were very reasonable and included hotel, bus, food, entrance fees, and a bilingual tour guide. You can sign up and pay online. There are no additional fees for traveling solo, with another person, or with others.
The bus was a comfortable air-conditioned tour bus with an undercarriage for luggage. The bus is large and has a large logo so it is hard to miss. I met the bus near Gwangwhamun station.
The driver was very friendly.
The food was delicious and all-you-can-eat.
We visited an Oriental Medicine museum, a famous church, the house of a famous person, an apple orchard, and a concert with all we could eat food and alcohol.
This trip is child-friendly, adult-friendly, and solo-traveler friendly.
You do not need to know any Korean because the tour guide is bilingual.
Our English tour guide was Rebecca Kim and she was very kind and funny. She was more than understanding about our dietary needs, etc.
During our visit to the apple orchard, I was able to adopt a Jindo puppy and bring her home to America with me!
Rebecca, our tour guide, and the bus driver were very patient and accommodating.
“DMZ/JSA tour ”
Reviewed March, 2017 (By 40girl, TripAdvisor Reviewer)
We booked the full day tour to the DMZ & JSA including lunch. Lucy at Seoul city tours responded promptly to all my email questions. The hotel pick up was handy and prompt.
Sunny (not sure of spelling) was great, easy to understand & gave lots of information about the day and what we were doing & facts and figures. Each stop felt rushed though & if you were at the back of the bus, you got less time!
I had asked via email if at the third tunnel I was able to get the train down & was told I did not need to book it or pre arrange, however when we got there, I was told it was for “private” tours & not for us. Disappointing as I would’ve gone down. My partner went down & said never again as it was so steep, so be warned!
We had a clear day, so the views into North Korea from the observatory were great. You could see the “fake” village & a few soldiers about.
Dorasan station was interesting, but felt a bit strange, like a ghost town.
We stopped for lunch at imingjak park, lunch was ok, egg & veggies & rice for me & meat for my partner.
We had a good long while to look around & take pictures & shop for souvenirs.
On the way to JSA, a different bus & a lot of instructions. At times too much information & felt a bit overkill.
We arrived at camp bonifas, saw the movie & the talk with the soldier, then back on the bus to head to the blue building. They did a cursory check of our clothing on the bus, looking at footwear etc. no one failed the dress code.
Arrived at the blue building all lined up & got told when we could take pictures, then we filed in to the blue building, don’t touch anything! Took pictures quickly (annoying when others lingered) & were ushered out. That was it! Back in the bus & off to the souvenir shop where they had sold out of most of the sizes of t shirt I wanted.
Overall it was a good tour, certainly an experience to see North Korea up close.
Definitely book it if you have time when in Seoul.

A must do tour! I had great email correspondence from Amy before the tour to arrange hotel pick up. Bus was prompt to collect me on the day. Tour guide Katie was very friendly and informative and made sure to let us know that returning to the city might be tricky because of the political protests. Because of this she also made sure we all knew how to get where we needed to at the end of the tour, and actually walked me to a subway station after lunch. Majority of the locations visited were great except for the ginseng store, which seemed out of place on this tour.

“Full day DMZ/JSA tour”
Reviewed March, 2017 (By Todd S, TripAdvisor Reviewer)
I booked the full day tour of the DMZ and JSA on viator.com and the tour was with Seoul City Tours. Rebecca Kim, our guide, did an amazing job. She was with us all morning. Great personality and very good a getting everybody organized and keeping things on track. Lots of knowledge of history and the various stops.
Be aware that it does take a long time to pick up everyone from the hotels. I was the 2nd person to be picked up, at 7:40am. We continued to pick up at hotels until around 8:30am and were at the first stop at the DMZ by 9:20a. Just be aware of this as there are no restrooms on the bus. However there are restroom opportunities all day at the stops.
My favorite part of the morning was the brief stop at the Dora Observatory. Incredible views of North Korea. You can use the binoculars with a W500 coin (highly recommended and change booth is on site).
The 3rd tunnel stop was interesting but I think I could have done without it since I am a bit tall and it was uncomfortable. However it was interesting to see how the tunnel was constructed.
After lunch (I was able to special order a vegetarian lunch in advance which was much appreciated) about 10 or so of us transferred to another bus to go to the JSA. We were on the full day tour, while the others went back to Seoul. The 2nd part of the day is the real interesting part. If you don’t have much time, just book the JSA/Panmunjom tour. Fascinating to be able to go into the MAC conference room and stand in North Korea. Really educational and eerie. I don’t remember the name of our guide in the afternoon but he was very good at navigating us through the various steps of checkpoints, etc. There are several stops where your passport is checked and also your dress (they want to make sure you aren’t wearing torn jeans, etc. as the North Koreans use these photos for propaganda, saying people in our countries can’t afford clothing).
So if you have time, take the full day tour. If you don’t, skip the DMZ and just do the JSA. Very educational and satisfying experience!

“Ski Tour at Vivaldi Park”
Reviewed March, 2017 (By crownpoint72, TripAdvisor Reviewer)
When I booked our tours in Seoul I decided to get the Ski Tour on our first day (March 5) as I heard Ski Resorts are closing already as the snow are beginning to melt. We are lucky, particularly my son Josh because the Vivaldi Park still operates as normal. Not so many people though as the off peak season started in March.
Our Tour guide Captain Hans made this day very memorable one for us specially to my son. This is the first ski experience of my son and we are very excited for him. As a beginner it was kinda hard for my son but Captain Hans did his excellent job in assisting, teaching and look after him to really enjoy the ski experience. He even made a video clip on how my son made the very basic until he started to do it on his own. According to captain Hans my son was a fast learner, yes maybe because he was very eager to learn but I guess the way Captain Hans did his job to a beginner like my son then his student will learn very easily.
Me and my husband did not try the skiing as maybe it was not for us older but what we saw about my sons’ was great and fulfilling. Good job Captain Hans! Thank you Seoul City Tour. Will definitely come back!

“DMZ Half Day Tour”
Reviewed March, 2017 (By Sepp H, TripAdvisor Reviewer)
I had no idea what to expect by the tour and some of the negative reviews had me skeptical but I really thought this was an awesome experience. I only did the half day tour (with lunch) but it was still a cool experience to go to the 3rd tunnel to learn more about the tunnels and the war, and the Observation Tower gives a nice view into the North. Very cool to see the opposing flags and hear the propaganda over the loudspeakers; bring some binoculars or some W500 coins with so you can use the binoculars at the station and you can even get a view of some of the farmers working. I didn’t feel rushed at all during the tour, but the day went quickly, as we were expected to keep to a tight schedule anyway. Lunch was the conclusion of my voyage and I recommend it– delicious and a good deal for the included price.
The only downside to the tour if I am honest is the Ginseng Center. It felt out of place and like a pushy sale to me. While it was interesting to see some of the history and learn about the plant, it wasn’t what I came to see. I guess it just wasn’t my cup of tea! Sorry for the pun….
Anyway, Captain Hans is the best– request him if you can for the DMZ tour! He is very down to earth, friendly and really cool. I actually booked a second tour the next day because he was so helpful (tour 8 with Hana- highly recommended as well- second review coming). Cap. Hans even helped with providing detailed directions to a few other sights I wanted to see and followed up with me via WhatsApp to make sure I was safe. For sure, Captain Hans is legit! Five stars for him alone. Thanks for the ride and stay safe, Captain Hans!

We were met by our tour guide, Bryan, in our hotel in Insadong. We went to Nami Island, Jade Garden, and the Ginseng Center.
Nami Island is small but there is a lot of sight seeing to be done so get your cameras ready. A ferry will bring you to the island itself, a relatively short ride from Nami wharf. If you have seen Winter Sonata, you will appreciate the place more.
Jade Garden is where they shot That Winter, the Wind Blows. It is a very beautiful and relaxing place. There are 3 courses you can choose from.
Ginseng Center is where you can buy government-approved ginseng products however, it is quite pricey.

Booked at 10pm at night at a Tourist office that was still open. The tourist office were super helpful in ringing round to find the best option. w46,000/person. No pickup where we were staying, but given a pickup at Seoul Station and the little bus arrived exactly at the time they said it would. This little bus after picking up a few more dropped us at the big bus (50+seater) that then took us on the journey. About an hours trip to the tunnel and the guide hurried us in. This turned out to be a real good thing, as we were one of the first buses there, so the photos were easy with no one else around and then the walk down the tunnel was relatively empty. When we came out there were another 20+ buses in the car park. Same story as we went to each of the viewing places as all the buses followed the same route. Our bus was easy to spot in the car park, as it was the most luxurious bus. We were only asked to pay on the way back to Seoul and decided to change to included meal (w55000). Took us to a good local restaurant and the guide stayed to make sure we got what we had ordered and spoke about each dish.
Hints: DMZ closed Monday, so Tuesday is extra busy.
On the big bus get the seats on the left of the bus, as the best views are to be had.
Pick a clear day to go as there is no view when the China smog comes over (book the day before). 500w coin for the binoculars.
This is a good operator to do your DMZ tour with.

It was pretty cold. Our guide, Hana, was really nice and told us many stories. For tourists like me who would join the JSA tour, the lunch time was way too short. Our tour bus waited in front of Camp Bonifas for almost an hour. However, the tour company didn’t have any authority there, so it wasn’t their fault. Reviewed January, 2017 (By MissXTraveller, TripAdvisor Reviewer)
We inadvertently used Seoul City Tours twice. One we did book direct for the Jisan Resort Ski Tour. The other was through Viator for the half day DMZ tour.
Both tours were excellent!
With the Jisan Ski Tour, it was a really convenient tour, from getting picked up at our hotel, with all the ski gear and ski lift included in the package. Our guide was Sunny who was brilliant! Probably the most professional tour guide we encountered in Korea. She was informative, clear and cheerful. As my husband and I were first on the snow, she even opted to give us a quick personal ski lesson for our efforts! We were also so lucky as that day it actually snowed! It was such a fun and memorable day of skiing!
With the DMZ tour, our guide was Hana, who was also lovely and helpful. The tunnel was a highlight! But mind the steepness and is not recommended for anyone with bad backs or knees! We also got to see into North Korea and heard the propaganda music the South side was spouting to annoy the North side! So interesting and a day where we learned a lot about Korea’s history.
The only reason why I gave 4 not 5 stars is that without pre-warning until the day, both tours take you to some touristy shopping place that sells like cosmetics and ginseng. So that was a bit of a letdown, but I guess, that’s business?!
Otherwise, I do highly recommend this tour operator!

I enjoyed the tour. Our guide, a female, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They picked me up from my hotel, and this was all despite me only making arrangements 1-2 days beforehand. They brought us to the DMZ, the sites agreed to, including the infiltration tunnel. As a history buff, with a particular interest in North Korean history, this was exciting for me..although I do advise you to take the joint DMZ + JSA tour because the JSA would definitely be worth it. Also another tip, for those of you who aren’t exactly fit or have breathing problems, DO NOT go all the way down the tunnel. Do not even attempt if. The walk down may be slippery, but the walk up was hell on earth, especially if the air is cold (went during Autumn and the air was cold). They dropped us off at city hall at the end, had a hard time finding my way back, but it turned out to be a fun adventure. The overall cost was very reasonable, would definitely recommend a day tour with them.

We were picked up 100 m from where we stayed and driven to the meeting point with a friendly chauffeur. The tour bus was very comfortable and spacious.
The attractions were great and the guide (Hana) transported us to another world via her storytelling. I highly recommend this trip as it is comfortable, informative and thoroughly enjoyable.

and despite the bit rush to see some of the places unification bridge was 15 min that is more o less the time to walk the few steps with kids is enough to have great memories .
The most important one that is the tunel we had the opportunity to do it full.
And we don’t have to spend hours in the gingsen shop as I was afraid .
Our guide Rebeca was fabulous she told us interesting historical things but not boring speeches .

I recently spent two days in Seoul to celebrate my birthday. I booked my trip as a package deal through Travelocity. I wanted to maximize my time there, so I also booked tours through Travelocity. The two tours I booked were both ran by Seoul City Tours. The first one I took was an all day palace tour which was led by David. The tour was well worth the money and David was awesome. The next day, I took the DMZ half-day tour. This was led by Chloe, who was very funny. I felt like I got more than my money’s worth on both tours. I was picked up and dropped off at my hotel the first day. The second day I needed to catch a flight, so I was dropped off near Seoul Station to get the train to the airport. I will definitely book with Seoul City tours again the next time I visit Seoul.

Seoul City Tours offered a Half Day JSA option (starting at 11am) with hotel pick up service available which I really appreciated for about 77,000 won. Other tours started much earlier (like 7:30am), more expensive and you had to find your own way to the tour meet up location. Additionally, Jessica with Seoul City Tours was so very responsive to all of my questions and when other tours told me that the JSA was not running on my days requested, Jessica assured me otherwise. The JSA is really the only place to you need to visit in the DMZ. This tour also had a stop for communal bulgogi lunch (included in price and decent) and Imjingak Park before the JSA tour and a short 15 min for time in JSA souvenir shop after (actually, worth it.). Mr. Kim, our guide, was fantastic and made the entire experience enjoyable and fun. He shared much more than just the DMZ area – you were given a great guide the entire 40-50 min ride to the DMZ area and beyond. I was impressed.
“DMZ Half Day Tour with Sunny”
Reviewed March, 2016 (By ozzykhk, TripAdvisor Reviewer)
I booked the Half Day DMZ tour with Seoul City Tours ahead of time. They picked me up at my hotel on schedule (around 7:30am and we finished around 2pm). Our tour guide was Sunny, and she was very entertaining and fun to listen to. I normally don’t like tours or learning about history, but she really made it interesting, easy to understand, and fun. On the half day tour, there were about 4 stops (?) and at each one there were toilets and also shops to buy gifts. My only complaint was that it would have been nice to have an extra 5 to 10 min per stop, as I was always having to watch the time and just barely made it back to the bus on time. I would have liked to have more of a chance to buy a drink, have a snack, or look leisurely around the shop or the area where we stopped. Be prepared to leave your bag in a locker at the stop where you go down into the third infiltration tunnel. (Its free) Make sure you have a bottle of water or you can buy one in the gift shop after. It was a bit of an incline going down and a good workout to walk back up again. You can turn around at any point.
At the end of the tour they took us to a duty free shop, and some people went ahead and left the tour from there. I was interested in buying Amethyst jewelry (I had heard other tours stopped at an Amethyst factory or shop but our tour wasn’t) and Sunny was kind enough to go out of her way to take me to an Amethyst shop and then make sure I knew how to get back to my hotel. Sunny was very friendly and passionate about her job and thanks to her, it was a really nice day. I would definitely book a tour again and hope to get Sunny for my guide. Thank you Sunny!!!

Would highly recommend to do this tour as there is only enough shops you can go to. Apparently the afternoon tours are quieter and have less people, we did that and there were 17 of us total but some groups can be 40.

A bit of last minute booking for the DMZ + JSA tour just before the Seollal Holidays but Seoul CIty Tour managed to get 2 seats to visit these places. Very responsive to give you information about the tour. Payment has been done through their website and despite a system failure during the payment, the staff (Rachel) get it fixed quickly in order to finalize the booking.
DMZ + JSA tour was an experience to be done once in a lifetime. DMZ was interesting but not as interesting than the JSA where you can feel the kind of tension between these 2 countries … but you can see and hear only what they want you to see and hear … there are much more information & details available in books.
We were also lucky to get access to these 2 places (DMZ + JSA) because it was closed the 2 weeks before our visit due to some tension between the 2 countries …
The guide Soo-Jin was nice and the food we had in a small typical Korean restaurant (where only people from our tour were eating for the lunch included in the tour) was very good as well.
Would recommend Seoul City Tour for this activity but be careful to book enough time in advance in order to secure if you really want to do this activity.

Came across it online and booked a daily ski tour 2 (Korea ski tour) with Seoul City Tour. This ski tour costs about 75,000 won, but if you book it online they have a special price for you (around 65,000 won). Minimum 2 pax.
In this tour package, it includes round transportation to and from your hotel, Ski resort and ginseng center. Ski gear and gloves are included in the package, ski clothes are available for rent at 20,000 won per set (ski shirt and pants), 15,000 won for pants only. You can rent the goggle at 10,000 won each. It also includes engligh speaking tour guide who provides really basic ski lesson for beginners. They brought us to Jisan resort as it is more suitable for beginners. (There are more flat areas.)
If you are staying in a hotel, you can ask the staff at the hotel counter to book the tour for you. You can choose to book it yourself too. Either send an email to them (online booking) or call them through the numbers listed in their website. They have english speaking staff, so do not worry about communication problem.
Overall, it is very convenient as the tour package will take care of the transportation and schedule everything for you. They will also discuss with you about the drop off location (where do you want to go after the whole tour).
“Full Day Palace and Korean Village Tour”
Reviewed December, 2015 (By djmrr2, TripAdvisor Reviewer)
I have been to Seoul a few times on business and never had time to learn about Korean history. This tour was able to provide a very good overview squeezed into one day.
Seoul City Tours were very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. My tour was split between two Tour Guides, Sunny and Hee-Won. Both were excellent and kept us on schedule so we could experience the activities that were happening, i.e. the changing of the guards and the Korean Folk Village shows.
Due to the size of some of the venues, and the distance between them, you can feel a bit rushed, but this is due to the above and not the Tour Company or the Guides.
The lunch that was provided was at a typical Korean style restaurant, and was very good and filling. There were many choices and Sunny made sure that everones requests and questions about the food preperation were taken care of.
I feel I now have a better understanding and appreciation of Korean history and culture and know which Palaces and Museums (even the ones we did not visit because of the conversations I had with Sunny and Hee-Won), I will visit next time I have free time in Seoul. I would highly recommend this tour and especially for anyone on business to gain some important history, culture, and current event lessons.
If I have a complete free day in the future I will definitely be using them for the DMZ tour.

“Great for first time visitors.”
Reviewed June 23, 2015 (By Donna K, TripAdvisor Reviewer)
The tour company is very professional and punctual (give or take a couple of minutes because of Seoul City traffic). Please be aware that the tours are pretty much an overview of the attractions being presented. As with most Asian tours, your time in one location is limited. It is a good way to become acquainted with the tourist attractions of Seoul for first time visitors. For subsequent visits to Seoul, I would recommend re-visiting these areas on your own time and at your own pace to thoroughly enjoy the attractions for what they are truly worth.

Booked this tour with only one day’s notice and was accommodated on the tour I wanted. Pick up was on time and as directed. Was greeted by Sunny Lee! She was an excellent tour guide, super friendly and very welcoming and accomodating. She made everyone feel comfortable and provided detailed and relevant information at each stop. She made the tour a great experience.

What a great tour “Full day tour #8″ We were a group of 9 and had lots of space in our little bus. Our driver was good and our guide Sunny Lee was excellent. It all starts with a telephone number with an operator that speaks English plus they pick you up at your hotel and only gets better after that. Sunny was able to give us just enough history, places to visit and funny stories to make sure we knew what to do next in our precious time in Seoul.
A big thank you–Merci from the group of proud Canadians

Great tour! Would highly recommend this to others. Booking is very easy, I just messaged Amy Park and she replied promptly, reserving us 6 seats for the tour. The pickup was on time. Luckily, the forest fire was done by the time we got there. The most interesting part of the tour is the 3rd infiltration tunnel and the Dora Observatory as I got to see a glimpse of North Korea, most especially the “Propaganda village”. However, it’s kinda foggy at the time we were there.
The tour guide is awesome as well, as she speaks good English and is very informative
If you want to enjoy the DMZ tour, you should book with Seoul City Tour.

Awesome tour. Booked thru hotel, on time pickup. Glad we booked the full day – the 1/2 day would not have been as good. The afternoon part when we went to the JSA-Joint Security Area right on the line seperating N & S. Korea was amazing. Very worthwhile tour – guides spoke good English. Would recommend the full day tour for sure!

My hotel booked my DMZ day tour for me through Seoul City Tour. It was a full day, from pick up at 8am till 4:30pm. I was staying in a hotel which was a bit hard to find, but the tour guide managed to find me as i was holding the DMZ brochure in my hand, so she figured out who i was. The tour guide i had was Yoo, Ji Yeon, she was a great, very friendly and informative. She explained a lot about Korea’s history and each area we were going to. The 3rd Tunnel and the Lookout over North Korea were the highlights of the tour. One tip is to make sure to have a big breakfast or bring a snack, as lunch is in the afternoon, because of all the driving around.

The ski tour at Jisan resort was excellent! A very big thanks to our tour guide Angie (Mi Ran)! She is pretty, lovely, and can speak English very well. Pick up at hotel is very punctual, and she explain what a ski beginner actually needs. She taught us patiently and make sure no one is ignored. She also suggest us where to go and which restaurant is nice. We had a great time with her, but I just missed the time to take a photo with her. Haha…I will be back!

We took the DMZ half day tour with Seoul City Tour. Our tour guide, B. K. Jung was certainly one of the best tour guides we’ve met. He gave us a great background of South Korea’s history to give us a better understanding of the country and an appreciation for what it has been through. BK definitely knew his country very well and our tour to the DMZ was great!

We are missing Korea after our trip, this is because of our friendly and thoughtful tour specialist Rebecca. We booked for a tour in Nami island last month during our week stay in S.Korea. The tree formations are very unique and makes the place solem and somehow romantic. It was a memorable experience, and would highly recommend Rebecca as a tour guide, as she really takes good care of her client and one of the best tour guide we had. After the tour, I got sick and she was very worried. She voluntary wrote down the korean word for porridge to help ease my pain and even contacted us to check how I feel.

Today I went on a tour of the DMZ. It was such a great experience. This was one of the main things I came to do in Korea. The tour bus picked me up from my hotel which was really convenient. Our tour guide Rebecca was truly the best. She was so nice and extremely knowledgeable. She remembered my name and took personal interest in making sure I was having a good time. When we went to the tunnel it was a very long hike up and down (make sure you use the restroom before you go in) I unfortunately hadn’t so I rushed to the bottom and ran back up the tunnel. On my way back up Rebecca was already making her hike back up and saw that I was rushing. She called out my name and made sure I was okay. I reassured her I was fine but really had to pee. ^_^ Once we were finished with the tour a few of us had signed up to get lunch. After lunch I told Rebecca about how I hadn’t taken the subway for my whole trip and was a little nervous to do so. I told Her where I was going and she helped me figure out which line to take and personally walked me to the subway to make sure I didn’t go in the wrong direction. This was 5 star service all the way! I would definitely recommend the Seoul City Tours to everyone coming to town. Thanks for a great time!

The pick up from the hotel from Rebeca – our tour guide for the day – was welcoming and very professional. It made us curious of the upcoming sightseeing tour. We saw a temple, the national folk museum and the palace which is enough for a general introduction to Seoul as such. Rebeca was very friendly and explained everything very detailed.

Our party of three booked a tour of the drama, “You who came from the stars,” and were brought to the settings of different scenes from the drama. We started off by going to Petite France, which is about an hour east of Seoul. Our tour guide, Rebecca, was very easy to get along with, outgoing, and flexible, so our trip was very smooth. After Petite France, we stopped back in Seoul for some traditional Korean food, then we headed to Namsan tower. There, we went to the top of the tower and back down to look at the locks of love. We also went to a traditional Korean village before ending the tour in Myeongdong. Our driver, Sunny, was also very prompt on time and gave some inputs on Seoul. Overall, the trip was great, Our tour guide told us a lot about Seoul and lifestyle, and we had a lot of fun!
